CISS contributes to making Aalborg University national champions

On June 7, local newspaper Nordjyske ran an article about new statistics from the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation showing AAU to be responsible for more than 40 percent of the total sale of knowledge from Danish universities – and this in spite of the fact that AAU spends far less money in that area than other Danish universities.

In the article, Dean Frede Blaabjerg explains that this is due to AAU’s extensive focus on involving companies early in the development of products and inventions. He adds: “It is no secret that we at AAU assign a high priority to getting our new ideas out there in the world, so that society can benefit from them, rather than pump money into knowledge that never gets any further than scientific articles within a charmed circle of academics.”

As an example of such a business collaboration, Nordjyske told the story about the company  Scott/Tiger Validate’s collaboration with CISS about the development of a tool for software test. Director of Scott/Tiger Validate, Tina Kristensen, praises the collaboration and among other things says: ”Companies can make the researchers’ results applicable and bring them out there to the customers.”
