ENCOURAGE was an European framework project aiming to develop embedded intelligence and integration technologies that will directly optimize energy use in buildings and enable active participation in the future smart grid environment.

The ENCOURAGE EU project was funded partly by the European Commission (Joint Undertaking) and partly by contributions from national funds. The project involved 11 partners from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland and Denmark.
